Like all mechanically driven objects, things can go wrong with your car windows, causing them to get stuck either up or (worse) down. If you can’t get it closed, your car’s interior will be subject to the weather — not to mention potential thieves.

Since your power window system is a mechanical system powered by electricity, problems can be either mechanical or electrical in nature. Tracking down the exact cause of your problem is the key to a quick fix. But there are many challenges involved in the actual repair.

  1. Is my car a business vehicle?
  2. What counts as a deductible repair?
  3. Which deduction method should I use?

Windshield Wipers Not Working? Here's How to Clear It Up

  • For sharing on social media

April showers are on the way. Make sure your windshield wipers are up to the task.

https://repairpal.com/symptoms/windshield-wipers-not-working

  • For your website or email newsletter

Whether it’s rain, snow or sleet, you depend on the windshield wipers to help you drive safely in inclement weather. Let’s look at the issues that keep windshield wipers from doing their job.

If your wipers are smearing: This can often be resolved with a good cleaning of your windshield or some replacement wiper blades.

If your wipers aren’t moving: With the car off, try to manually move the wipers back and forth. If they don’t budge, it is likely an electrical problem. If you can move them freely, you may have a mechanical issue. (This is a good time to bring your vehicle in to the repair shop for help!)

  • Bad fluid level or condition
  • Lack of internal pressure
  • Worn holding devices
