GWC (APCO)

About GWC

GWC provides extended service contracts primarily to used car dealers, selling certified pre-owned vehicles - but occasionally, new vehicles as well. These policies are typically sold by the selling dealer.

As you can imagine, the service and repair needs of their customers exceed the dealer's capacity to provide timely service, so GWC has partnered with RepairPal to connect their customers to our network of high quality shops.

Referrals

Participating shops will be listed on their website, and their call center agents will also make customer referrals to participating shops.  Most of their customers will call you or make an appointment with you online.

Rules for Participation

Labor Rate:  We will provide a feed of current labor rates to the partner, based on what you have listed in your RepairPal dashboard.  This guide tells you how to review and change your labor rate if needed.

Labor Times:  GWC only uses ALLDATA for labor time calculations.  If you do not have ALLDATA, they will provide you with the labor times for your job.  In some cases, this is going to be a bit more than the other labor guides out there, and sometimes, its going to be a bit less, but it should even out over time.

Parts:  When you source the part, you will use MSRP as a guideline for parts pricing.  GWC has an extensive network of parts suppliers and roughly 1/3 of the time on pricier components, they ask shops to accept parts they have sourced from their suppliers. These parts will be paid for, shipped, and warrantied (for both the part and reinstallation labor if it fails) by GWC. Our shops get a handling fee of 10% for accepting the part in these cases, up to $100, but otherwise, there is no parts markup on GWC sourced parts. GWC can ship most parts same or next day (with the exception of engines), and the parts warranty is for the life of the contract (12, 24, or 36 months).  When you use a provider sourced part from GWC, since they pay for it, you will not enter a line item amount on your invoice to the customer, so your invoice will reflect your labor, 10% fee and any parts, fluids, etc that you sourced, as well as applicable taxes and required fees (environmental, hazard, etc).

Taxes:  GWC contracts generally don't cover taxes.  Either you will charge them directly to the customer, or the customer may not have to pay the tax on the repair because they paid tax when they bought the policy.  GWC will offer you guidance in this regard.

Claims Process

1
Diagnose the vehicle based on the customer’s concern and determine the repairs and parts needed.
2
Before performing any additional work, call or go to the claim's portal for authorization ( claims.gwcwarranty.com or call GWC @ 800-482-7357 or the number on the customer's contract).
3
Identify your shop as a RepairPal network shop.

If you have any questions about the claim approval process, refer to this guide here or please don't hesitate to call GWC (800-482-7357) or RepairPal (800-969-9204). We're both here to make sure this goes smoothly for both your shop and the customer.

How your shop gets paid
The customer is responsible for:
  • Their deductible
  • Taxes, if applicable (ask when getting the claim authorized)
  • Any non covered repairs

GWC will issue payment directly to your shop for covered repairs that have been approved (either by credit card or check).
